HISTORICAL TOMB’S HISTORY
The humble tomb of Dadan Khan who was founder
of village (Pind).
Dadan Khan was a chief of Khokar Clan, was apparently a minor chieftain
who does not feature in the histories of Jehangir or Shahjahan , whose contemporary he was.
He founded this town
about 1625 ,perhaps with the view that it would thrive on the salt trade .
These may also be called by other names, including mandir or mandira, ambalam, kavu, koil or kovil, déul, raul, devasthana and devalaya, depending on the region in the Indian subcontinent and its local language.
FAMOUS OLD TRADING BUILDING’S HISTORY
This haveli is one of the last
few remaining, recalls the riches
garnered from the former economic activity.
In recent years pind dadan khan’s richer class
has moved away and most of the old mansions have been pulled down.
Famous products from pind dadan khan about 120 years
ago were embroided lungies and good quality
copper and brass wares . Coupled with trade of oil seeds, grain and ghee.
